turned a corner

Dan and I now have lives. As we sat at the table yesterday playing games, we discussed how our life has changed from standing in line all day to get paper work done, to teaching classes and hanging out with friends. I think we have a turned a corner.

Dan has been very excited to teach an anthropology class at the seminary. He has been working hard to write all of his lessons in Spanish and enjoys every minute of it. On the weekends he has been attending the youth meetings at our church where he has been discipling some of the youth. Let's just say that Dan is having fun.

I have some happy news too. Not only have I spent the last few weeks hanging out with my lovely friends, but tomorrow I start assisting in an art class. I am so excited because I will get to work with a gal who is a well known artist in Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil (at least that is where she has been asked to have art exhibitions). Now this art class is slightly different than the average art class because the students of this class are blind. Alejandra (art teacher) has a heart for the blind children and wants them to experience art. I am looking forward to having this opportunity to work with Alejandra and the students.

Naomi, Ben, and Rachel are doing great. They keep us laughing. Rachel's first English word is 'cheese' and her Spanish vocab consists of 'hola' and 'ciao'. Screaming is one of her favorite things to do. And Rachel can out scream her brother and sister combined in volume and pitch. But she is still really cute and lovable.

Ben informed me the other day that, "it rains because God squeezes the clouds and rain comes out."

Naomi told me that, "when I grow up I will have pretty clothes just like you Mama. And I will have three children named Mary, Mike, and Taylor. When I go to the hospital to have them I will just go "HUH!" and then they will pop out. Just like that." Man I wish it were that easy.

So as I said before our lives have a turned a corner. No longer are we wondering where to buy food and standing in line to finish paper work, but we are hanging out with friends, progressing in ministry, and getting into a regular routine. It feels great.

Sigh... Sounds wonderful. I'm glad to hear that maybe, just maybe, I can say this too in a few years.

Aw... no small thing. But for God. I hear the joy in your words.

So, on a side note, for some reason your new posts never show up in my google reader, so I'm missing what you write!!! Not good... so, this morning, without going into details, I sorted it. So now I will know longer miss you! (drinking my stovetop espresso as I type... just thought you'd like to know!)
